Rocio Classics: Angry Birds: Legend is back

The game that took the world by storm is making a comeback with Rovio Classics: Angry Birds. The puzzle game has returned with a full remaster of the contents it offered in its first iteration. Although this time, you will have to pay to play the game.

Unlike the sequel Angry Birds 2, Rovio Classics: Angry Birds brings back the well-loved parts of the original game. This includes all the stages, Easter eggs, and extras. It even offers the separate Mighty Eagle DLC at no extra cost. However, some levels from the original version are not included.

What is in Rovio Classics: Angry Birds?

Angry Birds was the first standout on the early mobile devices. Its popularity spread so widely that it eventually spawned an empire. From related mobile games, the franchise crossed borders to films and merchandise. However, the game that started it all was quietly pulled from app stores in 2019 and has not been officially available for a while as its developer, Rovio, focused on newer spin-off games.

Now, the game is making a comeback with a full remaster labeled Rovio Classics: Angry Birds. As mentioned, it is an updated version of the 2009 game and offers a close recreation of the original. It comes with the same physics-based gameplay and includes all the eight original episodes from 2012, with over 390 levels. It even has 3-star levels and the hunt for the Golden Eggs.

The game also brings back all the classic characters. Even better, you can call in the Mighty Eagle to destroy the hard-to-beat levels without paying extra. The DLC is now available upon installing the app. However, unlike the original, you need to pay $1 to play the game. Although, it is a one-time payment only as there are no in-app purchases. Best of all, there are no annoying ads.

Angry Birds 2

  • What is it: Angry Birds 2 is the direct sequel to the original Angry Birds. It keeps the basic gameplay but adds new powers and a fresh look. You still use a slingshot to shoot birds at structures made by piggies.
  • What's new: Birds now have new powers, and you can aim at specific weak spots in structures.

Angry Birds Journey

  • What is it: Angry Birds Journey is a free puzzle mobile game where you have to recover artifacts from rivals. Developed by Rovio, it keeps the classic slingshot action and features favorite characters.

A blast from the past

Overall, the Rovio Classics: Angry Birds game is an amazing remake of the original Angry Birds. It brought back everything you loved about the original and even included the Mighty Eagle DLC in its package. However, the app is far from perfect as it comes with minor issues with the sound effects. There are also some missing levels from the original game that did not make a comeback.
